Full Time Fruit Production Assistant

Come and grow with us. We are a large horticultural operation with a focus on growing superior, export quality fruit. We are based on the Waimea Plains near Richmond, growing a mix of pipfruit, boysenberries and kiwifruit on over 200 hectares of land.

This position is well suited to someone who is interested and takes pride in their work and who can put their hands to a wide variety of tasks. The successful applicant will be involved in all aspects of the fruit production, all of which will require a good level of fitness and health.

Staff supervision, horticultural experience and Growsafe certification are not essential but may be an advantage.

Our successful applicant will:

• Be involved in the day to day aspects of fruit production and plant care
• Carry out maintenance on orchard structures and irrigation
• Operate plant and machinery, e.g. tractors, sprayers, ATVs
• Be able to work unsupervised in a productive and proactive way
• Be able to think for themselves and find solutions to challenges
• Have a willingness to learn and adapt
• Have a clean driving licence and your own reliable transport
• Have the ability to work extended hours if required
• Have a positive attitude to health & safety

This is a hands-on position and the right attitude is favoured over having experience in all areas.
