Care Aide /Personal Care Attendant
Location: Benambra VIC 3900. Beautiful High country Victoria in Benambra-Omeo Region near Mt Hotham snow fields, Premier Alpine trout fishing, wild Brumbies and Deer, Bushwalking tracks and National parks.
Term: One to Three months- short term tenure negotiable (Part time). May be suited to travelling nurses or backpackers.
We have an immediate opportunity for a Care Aide/Personal Care Attendant with a passion for and experience in providing high quality care. You will be required make yourself available from Sunday to Thursday 3pm – 10pm, with the flexibility to work evenings and potential weekends shifts.
The position is ideally suited to someone with experience supporting individuals with a disability in a dignified manner.
Care Aide/Personal Care Attendant should deliver exceptional care and support to our clients, enhancing and encouraging their ability to participate in their own care to maintain their independence. Responsibilities can include skin care, general hygiene, grooming, dressing, fitting and removal of pressure stockings, massage, stretching, mobility, fluid intake, feeding, meal preparation, respite and assisting with medication. Support may also be required with general housekeeping, social support and basic first aid.

To be successful in this role, you will possess:
• Experience working in the community as a Personal Care Attendant, Care Aide or Support Worker delivering low, moderate and complex care.
•Fantastic interpersonal skills with the ability to prioritise workload and work independently.
• Satisfactory obtain a National Police Clearance Certificate (on commencement of employment and updated every three years per the Care Act 1997).
Not essential but would be favoured -
•Certificate III in Care, Individual Support, HACC or Disability
•Solid working knowledge of the Wellness Approach (HACC) and understand the concept of early intervention and restorative care.
•Under the Care act 1997, successful candidates will be required to provide a satisfactory National Police Clearance prior to commencement.
•Current motor vehicle driver’s licence (with no restrictions) and access to a reliable registered motor vehicle with a minimum of third party insurance.

This position, the Client has MND/ALS (Motor Neuron Disease), and is medium to low care.
