Work/Accommodation Exchange - Explore Tasmania's Beautiful Bay of Fires
Musselroe Bay, TAS, Australia
Added : 11-04-2019

Here is a unique opportunity for a visitor to Tasmania's North East to stay on our farm for a couple of days (or a few weeks) giving us a hand with our paddock work in return for board (housing and rent). We have recently cleared plantation forest, and we need people to pick up the sticks! What is left on the ground is not heavy - so suitable work for most people. If you love nature and being out in the open, this is a lovely way to work (for 4.5 hours per day) in return for comfortable housing. We run a farm stay accommodation business - check out our website below. As an added incentive we also have really scrumptious lamb and beef! Workers with us in the past have been foreign visitors/backpackers who appreciate the opportunity to start early (not too early!) and finish around lunchtime, giving them the rest of the day to explore this magnificent region. There are plenty of bush walks and kilometres of some of the world's most beautiful beaches to explore. Stick picking entails simply picking up sticks (left after trees and stumps have been cleared)and piling them in heaps. You then have the pleasure of lighting the stick heaps and making yourself a billy tea/BBQ beside a lovely warm open fire! You could explore in the morning and work in the afternoon if you prefer. This is a lovely temporary arrangement for motivated singles or small groups of travellers or friends - and obviously if you have your own car this will enable you to travel freely during your time off. Telstra telephone network only. Contact us via phone for further details.
