We are a multi-awarded boutique brand, hand crafting gelato using ingredients of a region historically rich for its dairy excellence. Currently with our Creamery manufacturing for selected retailers, and our beautifully branded Gelato Trailer and Bikes stationed in Waharoa and across the Waikato at events, you’ll have the opportunity to work across a variety of areas, seeing the gelato process from creation to consumer.
* This role is for someone with a diverse skill set looking for a job with variation. Reporting to the Directors, you will be required to provide support in all areas of both production and retail vendor outlets. Responsibly for assisting to deliver excellent product quality control and customer experience. This will involve making gelato in our creamery and selling gelato across our retail vendors. These vendors will be stationed across the Matamata-Piako District serving the public or travelling outside the district to service events both private and public such as weddings and galas.
* Good communication skills are required for key relationships with management, other kitchen staff, retail staff, suppliers and customers.
* It is essential that you enjoy practical work, have good hand-eye co-ordination with the ability to work quickly, safely, and as part of a team, whilst also having the ability to work competently when left to your own devices. Time management skills are essential to delivering the required results.
Experience in the hospitality industry is a plus but not essential as on the job training will be provided.
Excellent personal hygiene is a must as well as being free from skin allergies to foods and detergents.
The Nature of the job will require you to work shifts across scheduled weekends as well as weekdays.
The goal is to maximize gelato production and sales through customer satisfaction and employee engagement!
Assist the manager in preparation and processing the gelato, as required
Help manage all day to day retail operations to the highest standards
Handle, sort, store and distribute food items
Establish and meet targets, KPI’s, schedules, policies and procedures
Cleaning utensils and workspaces
Preserve excellent levels of internal and external customer service
Stock and money management and reporting
