We are looking for someone to join our small team on our free farmed farrow to finish pig and beef farm.

The role will be predominately working with the sows during farrowing, weaning and AI mating. Strong stockmanship skills of attention to detail and a patient nature are the key ingredients. Previous pig experience is not necessary as full and ongoing training will be provided. Someone who enjoys and has experience with calving or lambing would easily transition.

The beef operation is a mix of breeding and trading that is fed on pasture, lucerne and winter crop. We provide modern facilities and machinery.

A recently renovated 3 bedroom home with school bus from the gate is available with the role. The farm is 7 km from Pleasant Point and 28 km from Timaru. Some flexibility with hours is also available. This is a 40 hour per week position with minimal weekend hours.

We are a share milking business located in Northern Southland, We are currently milking 1300 cows on a 600-hectare Dairy farm. The farm includes a range of modern technology including two 850 cow wintering barns and an 80-bale rotary milking parlour.
We are looking to build our team for the upcoming season.

Job Description.

Calving begins in late July after the cows have had a 2 month holiday over the winter, then we put them outside and they are rotationally grazed until the next winter. We have a heavy focus on grass feeding which requires a specific skill set that we will teach you. We will run through a typical dairy season calving the cows followed by mating and then finally dry off at the end of May. The position will expose you to all aspects of a season supply dairy as well as everything that goes along with it.

About the Job
Based in Kaikoura this permanent, part-time position offers more variety than just straight truck driving, although this will be part of the role.

You will be meeting fishing boats when they berth in Kaikoura, transferring their catch to the truck, and driving the truck back to the Kaikoura depot.

To be successful you will need:
a Class 2 licence (minimum) and a clean driving record
flexibility – hours per day and week will vary – depending on when the boats come in and the fishing season
able to lift heavy weights

Merchandiser - part time temp role (8 weeks)

This role is responsible for merchandising in the Silverdale, Glenfield and North shore stores twice each week, on Monday and Thursday.

It is fixed term from approximately 14 April to 8 June to cover for our current merchandiser going on holiday. It may lead to permanent work however we cannot guarantee anything at this stage.

The role is part time and involves approximately 2 hours in each store both on a Monday and Thursday (12 hours per week).

This role is responsible for assisting Daltons to drive sales through Bunnings by ensuring their products are merchandised and maintained to their high standards.

The successful applicants will need to have excellent people skills to ensure they effectively build relationships with the Bunnings team members to ensure they have a common goal to meet customer expectations.

Key tasks include:
Complete the vendor in-store call cycle schedule that includes two visits per week : Monday for ordering and Thursday for checking stock levels, general tidiness and placement of product.
Place orders for Bunnings to ensure minimum stock levels are maintained at all times and ensuring packaging and product presentation is in a sell-able condition at all times.
Maintain merchandise standards in accordance with Bunnings standards, including keeping the area clean & tidy and the shelves stocked.
Provide excellent customer service to Bunnings including following up on all orders, customer inquiries etc

The successful applicants will have:
Effective customer relationship management skills
Effective organisation and time management skills
Intermediate computer skills
The ability to communicate effectively
A high level of personal grooming and presentation
A good work ethic, and be honest and reliable
Previous experience merchandising would be an advantage

Hours: Each visit to each store will be approximately two hours long. However we need someone with enough flexibility to be able to work longer hours if required during peak times, and also additional visits for promotions, staff training etc.

You will be paid a set rate per visit to the stores, along with an hourly wage for extra visits that are required.
