Excellent communication skills, friendly rapport and be able to get along with anybody, existing and new customers.
Outgoing and hard-working personality, to work multi-task, unsupervised for the day to day routine matters.
Must have knowledge of the process of buying and stocking along with MS office.
Should be able to work various shifts frequent late hours including weekends and public holidays (as we work Monday to Sunday) and willing to work roster shifts.

A nice cafe in Mapua is looking for a DAY TIME CHEF to join our professional team
Situated at the popular Mapua Wharf, and under new management since October 2017, we are a busy day time café, serving specialty coffee, gourmet shakes, ice cream and super food smoothies. All our cabinet food is made at our premises and our brunch menu covers vegan options, GF and DF meals, and the traditional French Toast and Egg Bene. Yes, we are all about food!

We are getting ready for the summer and need an experienced chef who can cook a great breakfast and prepare/present great cabinet food and cakes. We are looking for an energetic and passionate team member, with at least 2 years’ experience as a chef.
You will work alongside our other two chefs. This role can be part time or full time, we are flexible for the right candidate. You need to be able to start early, working some public holidays and some weekend days, usually Saturdays.

The role will require you to:
- Cook to order from our brunch menu which is available form 7.30am until 2.30pm
- Baking and produce cakes and raw food
- Manage your space quickly, efficiently and cleanly, as the kitchen is in full view of our customers
- General kitchen cleaning and hygiene duties

You'll bring:
- Previous experience in a fast paced cafe or restaurant kitchen - can easily manage the kitchen on your own if needed
- Experience in baking would be an advantage
- Experience working the grill and all other commercial kitchen equipment
- Excellent attention to detail – proud of what you put on the plate
- Relevant food safety qualification
