Vivid Sydney Festival 2019
Since 2008, Sydney has been illuminated by the Vivid Sydney Festival which will be held from the 24th of May until the 15th of June 2019, from 6PM to 11PM every day of the week.
The 23-day festival is a festival of light, music and ideas is spread out across multiple locations. But that's not all musicians and street performers are added to form a mind-blowing event in the heart of the city. However, the main attractions are the light and music projections on the Opera House and on the Harbour Bridge. You can also contemplate the lit-up water jets and ferries as well as multi-coloured light installations and projections in Darling Harbour, Barangaroo Point, Luna Park, Taronga Zoo and the Royal Botanical Gardens. The Vivid Festival remains relevant and engaging by renewing its theme each year: Aboriginal culture, science, tech & design etc. This ensures the event enjoys new and returning visitors, year after year. Last year, the event had a record number of visitors attracting more than 2.3 million people. The free festival has become a really famous tourist attraction. For the upcoming 11th year, the creators of the festival invited the Los Angeles Filmmaker Mr. Andrew Thomas Hung who is known for music videos like “Mutual core”, “the Gate” or “Black Lake”. Other artists are invited such as the choreographer Toogie Barcelo and also famous dancers from all over the world.
The easiest way to enjoy the festival is to walk to the centre of the city and explore as you go or follow the path of light at Circular Quay. Make sure you grab a map and a guide book of the Sydney Vivid Festival to make sure you don’t miss any exhibits and to help you understand every single art piece, sculpture, workshop or attraction! Alternatively, if you want to live the experience in an extraordinary way you can embark on the Vivid Cruise. There are many vessels you can book. Board on a magnificent boat and enjoy a cocktail or a glass of champagne while watching this incredible show of light all around you and then enjoy a delicious meal in front of the Opera House coloured with vivid lights, chromatic patterns and images. You will be able to take amazing pictures from any location of the boat and admire the reflection of the lights in the water with its big deck and the large glass windows. And one tip guys: make sure you don’t wait for the last day to go to the Vivid Festival because the event planners start to dismantle the structures a few days before the end of the show.

This might sound a little odd, but trust us when we say they are so much fun!
