Job Summary:

You will be responsible for providing a fun and memorable learning experience for children aged 3 -17 years old. You may also be required to teach adults at times as well. They are primarily looking for instructors who can work Monday through Friday.



Rate of pay: An instructor with a minimum of CSIA (Canadian Ski Instructors’ Alliance) or CASI (Canadian Association of Snowboard Instructors) or foreign equivalent) Level 1 and one year of full-time teaching experience will earn a minimum of the entry wage per level of certification as listed below. Snow sport instructors with additional experience and/or certification are eligible for a higher rate of pay depending on additional relevant certification or experience they may have. Rate of pay will be calculated after review of your instructor certification, seasons of teaching and additional relevant experience. This is subject to validation of official documents in support of these items.



Level 1: $13.50/hour

Level 2: $17.00/hour

Level 3: $22.00/hour

Level 4: $28.50/hour

What you’ll be doing:

Position Status: Full Time (30-40 hours/week), Seasonal, Hourly. Seasonal positions can be differentiated from year round jobs as the have predefined start and end dates. These dates may vary due to seasonal business fluctuations.

Job Summary:

To operate the assigned lift safely and efficiently while providing guests of the Company with courteous and friendly service. To achieve and maintain the highest standards; requires dedication to the Team in a very challenging environment.


What you’ll be doing:

Maintain a high quality, friendly and cooperative relationship with guests, lift crew and other mountain staff.
Adhere to all operational and safety procedures; ensuring safe efficient operation of the lift.
At every opportunity, greet each and every guest in a friendly manner, making eye contact whenever possible. Strive to assist the guest before the guest asks.
Provide physical assistance to guests when required.
Responsible for establishing and maintaining all operational aspects of the assigned lift including ramps, mazes, tools and signs.
Maintain high housekeeping standards including tool storage, load/unload areas, lift huts.
Generally provide a groomed, uncluttered, litter-free environment.
Notify Supervisor/Lead Hand immediately of any unsafe, unusual, abnormal situations or incidents.
Prepare and complete required documents.
Inform Supervisor/Lead Hand if work areas are in need of tools, equipment or any special attention.
Continually remain aware of the mechanical lift and the guest.
Perform all tasks as assigned by the Lift Supervisor/Lead Hand.
Comply with all procedures and policies as set out in the Employee Handbook.
Attend all employee meetings.
Strive to continually improve in safety, service and job satisfaction.
Carry out all responsibilities with the highest level of professionalism.

Qualifications:

Must possess excellent employee and public relations skills and be of a friendly and cooperative nature.
Must be mature, energetic, dependable and self-motivated.
Must be able to reason and react with quick, thoughtful judgment, while remaining calm under pressure.
Must be capable of performing physical/manual duties and meet the grooming standards.
Enjoy working outdoors and maintaining high service standards during inclement weather conditions
Intermediate to advanced ski or snowboard ability an asset

Minis (Non-Certified) Ski Instructor

Job Summary:

You will be responsible for providing a fun and memorable learning experience for children aged 3 - 4 years old.


What you’ll be doing:

To continually strive to exceed our Guest’s expectations and to create memories for guests and staff as the best mountain experience again and again.
To supervise a group of children for the day on Whistler or the Company, in a variety of activities including instructional skiing, skier safety, lunch, special events and to accept all duties as assigned by the Program Supervisor.
To attend all mandatory training sessions.
To be familiar with all Whistler Kids programs, prices and lesson times.
They are a company that works together and throughout the season you may be required to assist in other departments as needed.


Qualifications:

Resume is required
Experience dealing with children aged 3 and 4 is essential.
Patience and ability to have lots of fun.
Must have intermediate skiing abilities and own equipment
Required to provide a satisfactory criminal record check certificate upon check-in (valid within 18 months of your start date)
